WEYA — whoever you areweya.
About WEYA

A family-run NDIS practice, grown into a clinical-grade team.

WEYA was founded in 2020 as a family-run practice, originally focused on mental health support across the Gold Coast. Small team, real relationships, participants who came back year after year.

Once Josh qualified as an Occupational Therapist, WEYA expanded into complex physical and neurological care — the kind of support most community providers quietly turn away. We bring hospital-level standards into the home for families who need them, and we stay long after the discharge plan ends.

The WEYA Standard

How WEYA prepares before a support worker reaches your door.

Most NDIS providers describe their workers as caring and dedicated. WEYA documents the steps. Below is how the preparation happens, in order.

1

OT-led pre-hire screen

Josh, an Occupational Therapist, screens every support worker before they are offered a role. Judgement, calm under pressure, manual handling awareness, and the ability to follow a participant-specific plan.

2

In-person practical induction

Workers complete in-person induction before their first shift. Hoists, slings, manual handling, mealtime support, documentation, and escalation pathways. Not an online module.

3

Participant-specific shadowing

Senior team leaders introduce each worker to the participant's routines, equipment, communication style, and risks. Sign-off is attached to the actual person, not a generic competency.

4

Small dedicated support teams

Each participant is supported by a small team of regular workers. The aim is the same faces, the same routines. Cover shifts are briefed in writing, not learned on the doorstep.

5

12-hour acknowledgement

Every enquiry and referral is acknowledged within 12 hours. If WEYA is not the right fit, we say so quickly so families and referrers can keep moving.

6

NDIS Module 1 & 2A registration

WEYA holds registration for Module 1 (High Intensity Daily Activities) and Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans). These registrations cover the higher-risk supports complex participants typically need.

What we are not

We are not a national franchise. We are not a call centre.

Most NDIS providers at our scale will quote the same brand language: passionate support, holistic care, person-centred service. Then they roster a worker who has never used the hoist before and is reading the participant's plan for the first time on the way over.

WEYA does not run on that model. We run on small dedicated teams, in-person training, named clinical leadership, and OT-led intake. The people who run the practice are reachable directly — not buried behind a national support line.

Whether you came to us through a hospital discharge, a coordinator, or your own search after another provider quietly turned you away — this is the lane WEYA was built for.
